Memoirs of an Underrated Album ❥

I wanted to post another *gem* from Memoirs to further illustrate the points I made in the last post.

This performance of ♫I Want to Know What Love Is♫ is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! My best friend and I were just talking about how we wish her television performances were more like her concerts. They don't need editing. Her "mistakes" or whatever you want to call them make the performance REAL and show how out of this world her voice still is. Once again, make sure to watch this in HQ, the audio sounds better as well.

There is a backing track during the choruses of this performance, but you can hear MC through the whole thing and even her back up singers!!! I could listen to this every day.

It's a Wrap ✄

♫ It's a Wrap on all of the hatin on MC.

This performance shows that:

-MC does not only sing in whispers post-Emancipation, but she IS the best in the business at it!
-There is a clarity to her voice that didn't just "comeback" recently
-Her figure before her pregnancy was off the chain-that one's for you Tara Henderson :)

P.S. It is yet another kickass performance from MC!

Reflections

"Reflections" is a wonderful song off of the Glitter album, and it is not as widely known as some of her other great songs. I hope you like it and this live performance. "A Home for the Holidays" was a holiday music special created to present stories about adoption and to raise awareness of the issue. I'm assuming that it aired in 2001 since that was the year the album was released. Make sure to always view these videos in high quality (after you hit play click on the botttom right to at least 360p ).

ஐ Best Highlight of Mariah Carey Christmas Special ஐ

My favorite part of the MCC Special was her performance of O Come All Ye Faithful with her mother, Patricia Carey, a classically trained opera singer. The last two notes of the song blow me away. Her whistle is more prominent and clear than the track whistle played behind it.

Christmas in Washington

I took a little hiatus from the blog due to Finals and my disappointment with the Mariah Carey Christmas special that aired last Monday, Dec. 14 on ABC. There was a weird effect on her voice even in her regular speaking voice during the special, and her singing was often drown out by the backing track.

However, the Christmas in Washington performances that aired last Friday, Dec. 17th on TNT more than made up for it.

This performance of ♫One Child♫ is beautiful and doesn't even have a backing track.

Reportedly, there were some issues in the middle of ♪O Come All Ye Faithful♪ and some editing may have taken place post-production, but people need to just enjoy how beautiful her voice sounds here.

Extreme Makeover: ★Mimi Edition★

Last night's Extreme Makeover Home Edition was phenomenal. I'm normally not a big fan of the show and only watched it for Mariah. However, the family, the crew, MC, EVERYTHING was great!

"Finis, 28, was raised by a single mother in a poor neighborhood who also took care of his young niece, Jasqulon Gaston, and nephews Tyshun and Tyvun Morris. When Finis was 16, the straight A-student and sports enthusiast tried out for the Baker School cheerleading team. He made school history as the first male cheerleader, and his confidence and sense of humor made him a school favorite. His dream to go to college and earn a degree in social work came true when he was discovered by a cheerleading scout, who offered Finis a full scholarship to Alabama A&M University. But with just one year left to graduation, Finis' beloved mother unexpectedly died. He didn't hesitate to return home. Family comes first for Finis, and splitting up the children to be sent to foster care was not an option. He volunteers as a cheerleading and gymnastics coach and supports his family by serving lunch at the local school that he attended. Finis had put his dreams on hold to take care of his family."

You can view the episode on ABC.com or Hulu. Also, viewers outside the U.S. that can't access those videos can download the episode from MariahDaily.com.

Halo 0:-)

Last night's Halo Awards featuring the ♪One and Only♪ MC

Lauren's story was very inspiring. You can tell she's not a lamb, though. My crazy ass would have passed out if I walked into Mariah's house and met her. I would have started hyperventilating the second I saw the pink car with "MC" on it!

ღ Song of the Decade ღ

Almost one year ago on December 11, 2009 Billboard announced ♫We Belong Together♫ as the most popular song of the 2000's aka THE SONG of the decade. In honor of that I thought I would share with everyone my favorite performance of the track. It was from the 2005 MTV Movie Awards. Enjoy!!!

Mariah will ALWAYS be on Top!

I read an article today that listed the top 30 Holiday songs of all time in order of number sold. As usual, Mariah is on top...Again. ♫All I Want For Christmas♫ has sold 1,715,000 copies since it was released in 1994. No wonder that is the number one Holiday song of all time. The #2 slot belongs to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra with "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)" which was released in 1995. That song only sold 721,000. Mariah has literally sold a million more copies than all of the other songs on this list. So you can run and tell that, Ms. Henderson. And I would like to point out that Miss Whitney Houston's ass isn't on there at all! If Whitney is so wonderful, why is her name not in this article? She sang several Christmas songs...back when she was relevant.

I encourage everyone to head over the article and check it out for yourself. It's a great article and shows how Mariah compared to all the classical Christmas songs that we all know and love. Most of which were released about 50 years ago. ♥

Christmas Trees, a Frog, and Tons of Snow

There has been a lot of talk about whether Mariah lip synced her performance of "Oh Santa" from the NBC Tree Lighting special that aired last Tuesday.

♫ For the Record ♫ she did not. There was a technical difficulty and she had to sing the song twice. The second time they played the backing track too loudly. Check out the video below and see/hear for yourself.

Yes she syncs trivial parts of the song and the whistle notes from the track are on top of her whistles, but with a song as festive as "Oh Santa" she can't sing every part of the song.

Tara Henderson can drink a tall glass of Kiss My Ass

and chase it with this

and a double shot of that, hoe

I've come to realize that Mariah's voice is so amazing and out of this world that haters can't fathom that it is real. People nitpick her performances to death, but she is in a league of her own. See her in concert and you will be a lamb4life!

When Christmas Comes video contest!!!

Ok, MC fans! I am most definitely going to participate in this contest. I had to share this video because it is amazing and I hate that this bitch done beat me to it! But seriously, it's a great video and I can't wait to make my own. I will post soon as the deadline is December 13! If you are a winner, part of your video will be included in Mariah's music video for, ♫When Christmas Comes!♫

2010 Disney Performance

So I was youtubing Mariah this morning, as I do pretty much every day. And I came across a couple videos of her recording the Disney Christmas Parade, which airs Christmas Day. I am super excited because you can actually see her baby bump in the videos! (All I Want For Christmas Is You)

On the other hand, I'm a little disappointed because I think she has some really great new songs on the new album and I hope she performs those soon, because people are going to get tired of hearing, Oh Santa! and All I Want For Christmas Is You. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE those songs, but I want her to perform some new stuff too :)

I hope you enjoy and can't wait to see this on Christmas Day!

Merry Christmas II You

So we all know how much I love me some Mariah Carey, but I wanted to create a blog that supported her in every way. First of all, I do not agree with everything that Mariah has done lately, but I still support her and will continue to support her because I'm a Lamb4Life :) Also, I'm not going to sit back and let ignorant people, cough cough Tara Henderson, write pure bullshit about Mariah.

When I found out that Mariah had married Nick Cannon, I was shocked. I remember Nick Cannon from Teen Nick and other really lame gigs. I thought, "How can this DIVA marry such a Teen Nick dork!?" However, the more I saw them together, the more I realized that he really does make her happy and I firmly believe that they deeply love each other.

We all know the phrase, first comes loves, then comes marriage, then comes baby in a baby carriage. And we all know that Mariah is in fact pregnant. I was not happy about that one either because I felt that once she started a family, she would put her singing career on hold and that would really annoy me as I am addicted to her voice. It was slowly growing on me and I had come to terms with the devastating news until the speculation of twins (TWYINS!) arose. I love my girl MC, but if she pops out two, she will be too busy to work on new music. It will be a sad day in my life, but also a joyous one as I know she will have beautiful little darlings.

I'm sure none of this was news to you, but I still wanted to recap everyone on what she's been up to. She recently performed for the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony and even though she's pregnant and they played the track too loud, I still love her!

This goes out to Tara Henderson, who loves to raise my blood pressure: Every performance that I have ever seen of Susan Boyle's has really sucked. I don't know if I'm just hearing bad quality audio or what, but I don't think Susan Boyle is the latest, greatest anything and never will be. For the record, she will never be MC, and will never out sing Mariah either. She has the most unflattering name (and face) to be successful in this industry. I'm not being superficial, but without good looks, you can kiss a career like Mariah's good-bye.

I know this blog isn't about Ms. Boyle Face but it really aggravates me that because she and Mariah both released Christmas Albums this year, everyone is comparing them. It's like comparing apples to rotten old oranges. You can't do it because they are two entirely different things. I just had to let the world know that Susan Boyle can KISS MY ASS! (Whitney style)

:)
